Wholesomeness

About Us |   Our Approach |   Methodology |   Wholesomeness

We at Pragati Leadership believe that any successful entity has a responsibility to the greater community. This is why we are actively involved in making a positive and tangible impact in the people, organisms and communities we work with. While a large part of this happens through our offerings to the Corporate Sector, we also serve society in other ways.

Most members of the Pragati Community are actively contributing to social causes in voluntary and leadership roles. Some of the organizations we serve are Chetna, Teach India, Spectrum, Initiatives of Change, IC Centre for Governance to direct a program for senior Civil servants in India on Ethics in Public Governance, Soroptimists International, Foundation for the Restoration of National Values,Ashoka Foundation etc.

Our involvement with the social sector, puts Pragati Leadership in the unique position of a bridge builder between the corporate and the development sector. We migrate learning across these artificial boundaries so that all organizations and sectors benefit.

Pragati Foundation

Pragati Leadership’s initiatives outside the corporate sectors are held by Pragati Foundation. It is the CSR wing of Pragati Leadership. The Board of Directors comprises of distinguished members like Rati Forbes, Vijayan Krishnamurthy, Anu Wakhlu and Arun Wakhlu.

The purpose of setting up this NGO was to cascade the process of good leadership practices and human development into the social sector. Pragati Foundation is one of the few NGOs working in the area of Leadership Development for the social and development sectors.
Pragati Foundation is a society registered under the Societies Registration Act 1960 and the Bombay Trust Act 1950. The Foundation is also registered under the Foreign Contributions Regulation Act (FCRA).

Awaken-i

Awaken-i is a project under the Pragati Foundation aimed at generating “good work for all”. It does this by mobilizing a new paradigm and process of work which is soulful, innovative, uses local resources and is in harmony with the environment.

All the knowledge and experience that is needed to create new approaches to “Good Work” exists on the planet. These resources are, however, not connected to each other or to the people who can use them. This project will develop and support a community of “I Catalysts” to take the “Awaken-i“ process forward. These will be people who will awaken others to spirit centered Inspiration, Innovation, Initiative and Integration.

The key problems that this project addresses are:

  • Unemployment (and its attending ills like low self esteem, terrorism, drug addiction, etc.)
  • Soulless and Boring work (work which does not use ones natural talents and aptitudes, and which is often far away from ones local community)
  • The erosion of local economies and local crafts and cultures due to rampant globalization of work
  • Environmentally non sustainable and unsafe work
  • Breakdown of community and erosion of the cohesion between diverse people
