For whom: First Time Managers

People spend the first couple of years of their careers as individual contributors. This means that most of the focus has been on the development of personal excellence and on managing self. The progressive next step is to make the shift from 'Managing Self' to 'Managing Others'. The objective of this program is to support new managers during their transition period.

This three day program focuses on developing those skills and attitudes that are needed to make the shift from ‘doing the work yourself’ to ‘getting it done through others’.

  • Describe the managerial competencies required as first time managers
  • Identify key attitudes for managerial excellence at work
  • Demonstrate key attitudes of accountability
  • Practice interpersonal skills related to listening, assertiveness, conflict handling, etc.
  • Further enhance some basic managerial skills like time management, goal setting, delegation, etc. and
  • Appreciate the importance of developing people in a managerial role
