Ram V. Ramachandran

Ram is an Independent Businessman and a Consultant. He is currently advising the Chairman and Managing Director of Cummins India on India Business Strategy and relationship with Telco in Transportation Markets. Other support includes representing him in Corporate Cummins on India related Strategic Marketing and Information System issues.

Founder, Entrepreneur and Chairman & Managing Director of several companies like Fleetguard Filtration Systems Pvt Limited, Caltherm Thermostats India Pvt. Limited, Grant Apparels India Pvt. Limited, Ashra Engineers Pvt. Limited, Qimpro Consultants Pvt. Ltd. (Chairman) to name a few.

Ram has been allied with Affinity Express India Pvt Ltd (100% EOU)– Executive Vice President and Country Manger- Graphics, Embroidery Software Development and Document Content Creation and Management BPO Grant Apparel Pvt Ltd (100% EOU)– (Vice Chairman)- Machine Embroidery Manufacturing Unit.

He is associated in a role of a Management Consultant with Cummins Engine CO Inc. USA and Grant Brothers LTD, Canada and other North American and Indian clients. Ram is also a Director (Quality) of International -Cummins Engine Co. Inc. in Columbus -Indiana. He led a US Team which set up a Joint Venture between Telco and Cummins for manufacture of Diesel Engines for Telco Trucks.

From 1975 – 1982, he was a CEO of Cummins Diesel Sales & Service. From 1988 – 1993, Ram worked as a Chairman and Managing Director of Kirloskar Cummins Ltd. During his tenure, he helped KCL consolidate its position as No. 1 Diesel Engine Manufacturer in India. Ram has received winning recognition as an authority on Quality Control, Maintenance and Productivity Management techniques. He has shared his expertise in many leading institutions like Administrative Staff College of India, Hyderabad, Institute of Ports Management, Calcutta, National Productivity Council, Government Institute of Ordnance Factories. Pune Quality Circles Group etc.

Besides Pragati Leadership Institute (P) Ltd., Ram currently serves on the Board of several companies like Wathara Associates Inc., USA - (President)- Business Consultancy; Ashra Consultants Pvt Ltd – (Founder) Design and Manufacture of Filtration Products; Ashra Engineers Pvt – (Founder)- Manufacturing and Services; Qimpro Consultants- Chairman (Quality Consulting) and Chittle Apparels Private Limited- Chairman and Managing Director. With hands on experience of founding and leading many organizations, Ram is an authority in the areas of Quality Service Excellence, Process Optimization and Product and Service Design.
